Fleetondemand is an innovative, web based car rental platform aimed at the broker market, with a customer UI for self-booking. The software incorporates a full online booking system with direct connectivity to several leading rental companies, a in depth billing system with an EDI import function for mass import of supplier invoices, outgoing customer invoicing, an extensible reporting suite and more.
While working with Fleetondemand I mainly focused on:
– Getting the product to market. Was heavily involved with rapid development in the beginning, creating an MVP product customers could begin to use.
– Billing & invoicing. Building an extendable invoice import function with background file validation & processing, manual invoice creation UI and invoice management queues. On top of the base importer functionality, configurations were then added to map the customers CSV fields to the system, allowing the system to repurposed for any many clients as required.
– Liasing with technical departments at various vehicle rental companies in order to create a standardized internal API for fetching data from their respective APIs.
